Here I sit on the porch in Sunny and warm Fort Myers where the temperature is a balmy 85 degrees wondering why I took so long coming down here. Anyhow yesterdays trip was uneventful, left Walterboro SC at 7:05 and got here at 3:10. Had to make my traditional stop at the Florida Welcome Center to get my glass of OJ and check on rt 301 which I take. It is a well known shortcut from Jacksonville to Tampa. I95 and I4 are just too busy with the people going to D-land and all the other stuff in Orlando. Everything seems to be fine down here and the folks are in good spirits and were eager to see me arrive. My mother-in-law even made a pot roast instead of us going out. It was really good and appreciated. I allowed myself to sleep in till 7 ish and had breakfast and watched Regis for the first 20 minutes and then out on the bike to explore. Everyone is friendly here and always wave or say hello. Our neighbor has a great wireless connection and so I use his. He is leaving to go back to Canada this weekend so I'll have to switch to one of the other wireless routers around here. At least 10. Somehow I forgot to bring a camera, brought the charger but not the camera. Duh. My memory is failing or someone has hidden things on me. For example, a few months ago I found the charger for my bluetooth, but I couldn't find the bluetooth. Then I found the bluetooth and now I can't find the charger. It is a plot to drive me bananas.

Hi Dad,
I'm glad you made it down to Florida without a hitch. Enjoy the balmy weather. Say hi to Deb's parents. :)
I agree -everyone is friendly and it is easy to slip into that retired people life - so relaxing. I hate the TV shows they watch but I just read and read. Tell Tim and Audrey & Lori "HI" and have a safe trip North! Enjoy the sun -dreary here. Buy a disposable camera. Love to folks.
