Well September is all but gone, where did the days go? Somebody told me that the older you get the more time moves faster. When I was a kid I always thought time went very slow. In Particular in some of my high school and college classes. A minute seemed to last for hours. Kinda like in football when the final two minutes takes at least 15 minutes. Then I look back at the calendar. I mark things on the calendar so I don't forget the events. Going back to July was my week and a half with the Air Force Regional Staff College. Then in August was the trip out West to stay at the time share and drive around for a couple of weeks. Then came September and the National Conference in San Antonio. Then came meetings and doctor appointments and now we are in October. Besides the usual events normally scheduled during the month, I have to go to Pittsburgh for a conference and then the week after that is the much delayed and eagerly looked forward to trip to Argentina. Haven't seen my oldest daughter for 9 months, so I can't wait to get there. My wife is going also so she will be able to experience Argentina. Seven days after coming back from Argentina I'm off to Florida for 10 days. In December, my wife and I are flying down to Florida so she can enjoy the warmth of South Florida in the middle of Winter. We will be back by the 8th and no more traveling until March with my usual drive down to Florida. 3+ years into my retirement and still not bored. Tired but not bored. Did the laundry today with the expert assistance of Midnight who help sort the clothes for the washer. Yesterday I walked down to the bank and store, not bad of a walk, but my foot started bothering me again. Well my Spanish has hit a a roadblock or a mind block, I get on the Rosetta Stone software and going well and then just have a mind blank. On the flight to San Antonio I listened to my Coffee Break Spanish lessons. The Rosetta Stone and the coffee break spanish use completely different methods. Maybe in a few years I'll learn enough. My reading skills are improving but I use association rather than translation. Well it is past my bedtime.

Where did the month go
Just noticed that September is half over. Talk about time flying. When I was younger, the days would seem like weeks, now they seem like hours. Maybe it has something to do with being busy all the time. I guess I could slow down. Naw, Having to much fun. I'm still trying to figure how to get to Florida before the end of the year. Midnight keeps wanting to be petted. If he sees me getting up he rushes over to be petted or brushed. Since it is getting cooler here he doesn't seem to be losing as much fur. The painters are here again to finish up on the metal parts of the front porch. Again more spanish. I need to really get busy on learning Spanish, 5 weeks to go. Hopefully my daughter has made the arrangements at the Hotel and the driver. I read her blog about the happenings down in Argentina. It seems an Argentine tennis player won the US Open yesterday. His English is much better than my Spanish. Well time to go.

back to the old grind
well I'm back in PA. No more traveling until Oct when I have a conference in Pittsburg and of course the trip to Argentina. Finally getting to the laundry, it seems at times that I'm taking in laundry from the neighbors. I used to do it every two weeks and I would have 4 loads, now it is usually 8 loads. Midnight likes to help, but his sorting abilities are limited. The trip from San Antonio was OK, the usual atc headaches at Philly. I was on a 767 and we went to 39000 feet right off for a total of 8 minutes and then we started back down. Short trip of 54 minutes. When I got to philly they said our bags would be at "A" baggage area, after waiting about 30 minutes they changed it to "B" so out we all go to B. Someday they will get it right at Philly. I have my 45th class reunion on Sat. Mostly of people that don't look anything like they did 45 years ago. Well time to get to the laundry.

SA Airport
Well here I am Sitting in a rocking chair at San Antonio Airport. They have rockers all over the place, so I'm sitting in one watching the airplanes take off and land. Not much activity right now. I had a Breakfast Burrito here at the airport from the local MacDonalds here at the airport. Not a busy airport. The shuttle got me here from the hotel very quickly. Trying to find the ticket counter was a little trying since their signage is strange to say the least. Of course this gives me good practice for Buenos Aires since everything is in Spanish and English. One thing is strange, they have music playing over their speaker system, but everytime there is a flight announcement the volume of the music goes up and blocks the announcement. Getting check-in was simple since I was the only person checking in. And then you take your checked bag over to the TSA to be run thru the xray. Then I finally got checked at the carry-on, no line there. My ham radio confused them, so they did it three times before OKing it. So now I wait for my 1:15 flight. It is 11:00 right now. The conference wasn't bad and the area is nice. There seems to be a lot to do around here. I used skype the other day to see Deb and midnight. He wasn't very happy to see me on the screen of the computer and not in person. Oh well that is technology for you. ciao

More to tell you
Back from dinner at Tony Romo's (dallas quarterback) I had the ribs and they were very good. Baked potatoe was good also . Then over to the Daily Queen for a hot fudge Sundae. It has been raining for a little bit. But it has made the visibility a lot better. The city lights are very nice. Well that's about it for now. Ciao
Been Busy
Sorry I haven't finished the last entry. Been Real busy. On Thursday we went over to the alamo and toured the site (one block from my room)(I overlook it) Very interesting then we walked to the mall (part of the Hotel) and decided to see the IMAX movie about the Alamo history. Not well acted but interesting to see the Texas viewpoint. If you are from Mexico, I wouldn't recommend it. Thursday night they bused us 45 minutes away to a ranch for a texas bar-b-que, good food and they were teaching people Texas line dancing. It was a fun night. Today is the business meetings and I have been going to them. Time to go.

Greetings from San Antonio
Where? OK i'm in San Antonio in the Marriott Rivercenter for a conference. I had a great flight down. Left at 4:40 AM from home, Midnight was very confused, but since Deb wasn't coming he seemed OK. Deb dropped me off at 5:15 and since there was no line for first Actually no line for any class. I spent more time BSing with the agents, I went upstairs and of course there was no line at either TSA spots so I was at the gate by 5:25 and of course it was the farest gate possible. The plane was there (757) and so I had an hour before boarding so I got a egg MacMuffin from the local eatrey there. It was a egg McMuffin on a hoagie role with coffee was less than $6. I couldn't eat it all. Well to be continued, Dinner on the riverwalk calls.
